In March 2016, the Sou'Wester Lodge invited me and fellow Seattle artist Liz Tran to each take over a vintage travel trailer where we spent a week working on our respective projects. I shoehorned a roll of Arches watercolor paper into the gorgeous 1953 Zelmar Cruiser and spent the majority of days drawing—interspersed with happy hour oyster shooters, rides on the Sou'Wester's collection of beach cruisers, and hair-raisingly stiff drinks at the nearby Lamplighter.
